Job Description
Position Summary: Assists the company Controller in managing the financial operations of California Armenian Home and The Vineyards.
Educational Requirements and Experience:
Bachelors degree in Accounting with one year experience in accounting. Or an Associates degree in Accounting with two to three years' of experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The following duties are normal for this position. This list is not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
- Provides support for most aspects of accounting management
- Assists in the formulation of internal control and policies to comply with legislation and established best practices
- Prepares monthly journal entries and maintains amortization, depreciation, fixed asset schedules and other Balance Sheet accounts schedules
- Assisting in the preparation of financial statements in compliance with official guidelines and requirements
- Assists in the month end and year-end closing and financial reporting process-including account analysis and reconciliation
- Assists with monitoring the processing of accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and employee benefits and related reporting requirements.
- Ensures appropriate assignment of departmental expenses and supporting documentation is executed and maintained.
- Reviews the company's accounting information to identify and resolve inaccuracies or imbalances
- Utilizes accounting IT system to facilitate processes and maintain records.
- Prepares Management reports.
- Assists in the preparation of the annual financial budget, annual audit schedules, tax reports, cost reports and any state required reports.
- Assist in special projects as necessary.
- Other duties as assigned

Language ability:
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally in English
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
- Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
- Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
Mathematical Skills:
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts and to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Cognitive Demands:
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills:
- Ability to useMicrosoft Windows, including Word and Excel.
- Ability to use email and the Internet.
- Ability to use accounting and payroll software.
