Senior Staff Accountant / Controller - Ellison Technologies

Internally this role is titled controller - due to legacy titles - however, in short, the position puts you in a position to take ownership of the accounting operations of a $20 Million business unit with close to 60 employees.  It's a great opportunity to continue to develop your business, accounting and leadership acumen as you work in an empowered environment.  Our leadership team and culture focuses on providing support, while you take ownership of your position and responsibilities; we are not a micromanaging company.

Because this role will be supporting a division in Wisconsin the opportunity to flex one's schedule and arrive as early as 6:30am is available. This is an in-office position located in Santa Fe Springs.

The controller role positions you to be responsible for a wide range of activities and deliverables:

• Monthly accounting close
• Calculating commissions and other variable compensation
• Bank reconciliations, asset depreciation and amortization, and project accounting
• Inventory physical counts and cycle counts
• Contract review
• Financial reporting
• Annual audit support
• ...and more!

What are we looking for?

• Strong team player that fits into a friendly, team oriented environment
• A Bachelor's degree is required
• Advanced Excel skills are required (developing queries, creating macros, pivot tables, vlook-up, quick keys, etc)
• Experience with NetSuite and or Epicor would be a plus
• Bank reconciliation experience is required as is direct experience with financial reporting
• Hands on experience with monthly/quarterly/yearly close is needed for the role as well.
• Experience with external auditing companies is preferred
• Although not a must, software industry experience is preferred. 
• Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience as a staff accountant or higher is necessary
• Experience calculating commissions and other variable compensation is very helpful
• A CPA would also be preferred but not necessary.

In accordance with California law, the expected salary range for this California position is between $80k and $110k annually. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
