Our client is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to assist their Finance Manager.

Position Summary: The Senior Staff Accountant will be responsible for managing and overseeing the firm’s accounting functions, ensuring compliance with accounting principles and standards, and supporting financial planning. This role will be essential in month-end closings, financial reporting, budgeting, and overseeing the billing and collections process. The ideal candidate will have experience in the legal industry, be proficient in financial software, and bring strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the month-end and year-end close processes.
• Prepare, analyze, and present monthly financial reports and statements.
• Perform reconciliations, including bank and balance sheet accounts.
• Oversee billing, collections, and revenue recognition processes.
• Assist with budget development, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Collaborate with management to provide financial insights to support decision-making.
• Assist with audits and regulatory reporting.
• Mentor and guide junior accounting staff.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a law firm or professional services firm (preferred)
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and relevant legal accounting practices.
• Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Elite, or similar) and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent analytical skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration across departments.
• Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and handle multiple tasks.
