We're looking for someone to lead our general accounting operations and ensure our financial transactions are spot on. In this role, you will be responsible for reconciling account balances, reviewing bank statements, maintaining the general ledger, and preparing closing procedures. Responsibilities:
- Analyze financial information and summarize financial status, spotting errors and suggesting efficiency improvements.
- Perform monthly sales tax reporting, review, and approval submission.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and support cash flow management.
- Review and process bi-weekly payroll journal entries.
- Assist with month-end and period-end closings.
- Provide non-profit monthly financial reporting and annual budget support.
- Record fixed asset acquisitions and dispositions, and communicate with our CPA regarding capital assets.
- Handle all accounts receivable activities.
- Produce ad hoc reports as needed.
- Document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
- Cross-train in staff accountant and sales clerk duties to support during leaves.
- Assist in troubleshooting as needed.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Accountant or equivalent role.
- Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures.
- Familiarity with financial accounting statements and general ledger functions, including period-end/year-end close processes.
- Experience in the restaurant industry.
- Hands-on experience with accounting and POS software such as Restaurant365, NCR Aloha, Toast, and QuickBooks Online.
- Advanced MS Excel skills, including Vlookups, Macros, and pivot tables.
- BS degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
