What we’re looking for:
- An Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
- At least five years of accounting experience, particularly in a healthcare setting.
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
- Knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
Hours and Compensation:
- Full-time position.
- Hourly rate ranging from $30 ($62,400 annually) to $41 ($85,280 annually) based on experience. Candidates with 10 years of experience can expect around $35.50 per hour.
- Full benefits package included. Preference for local candidates, but relocation assistance may be available.
Responsibilities:
- Perform various accounting functions including analyzing, reconciling, recording, and reporting financial information in accordance with GAAP.
- Maintain internal controls to protect the organization’s assets and provide financial information to support management’s decision-making processes.
- Prepare and distribute monthly financial statements and management reports for the healthcare system and partner companies.
- Reconcile bank statements to the cashbook file and general ledger, and post adjusting entries monthly.
- Collect and analyze revenue/accounts receivable information from various systems and post appropriate journal entries.
- Review financial data for variances and provide logical explanations.
- Review accounts payable analysis reports, correct discrepancies, and make necessary adjustments to the general ledger.
- Maintain and post recurring journal entries and input annual operating budgets into the general ledger.
- Prepare state sales tax reports and annual reconciliations, and complete check requests as needed.
- Analyze capital requests, purchase orders, and vendor invoices to document capital purchases within the fixed asset system.
- Review capital-in-progress (CIP) accounts and ensure timely capitalization of assets.
- Document capital disposals in the fixed asset system, process depreciation expense, and post related entries monthly.
- Reconcile the fixed asset register to the general ledger quarterly.
- Invoice the Healthcare Foundation and outside parties for reimbursable capital and operating expenses.
- Review and post payroll journal entries, and reconcile related expenses and liability accounts as needed.
- Submit federal payroll tax payments electronically and prepare quarterly Form 941.
- Calculate workers’ compensation premiums, post to the general ledger, and prepare corresponding wage reports biannually.
- Calculate federal and state unemployment expenses/liabilities, post to the general ledger, and prepare quarterly forms.
- Prepare check requests for payroll liabilities and calculate affiliate employee health and life insurance premiums.
- Prepare and distribute monthly FTE/Salary Summary, Overtime, and Hours Worked reports.
- Prepare grant reports and maintain supporting documentation.
