Job Details
We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Staff Accountant to join our rapidly expanding team. The successful candidate will be responsible for a wide range of accounting duties, including assisting in month-end close, preparing journal entries, and managing other critical financial tasks. This role requires a strong understanding of ASC 842 and at least 3 years of relevant experience.
Responsibilities:
1. Assisting in the preparation and completion of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP
2. Preparing and posting accurate journal entries, ensuring financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures
3. Assisting in the implementation of ASC 842, including the identification of lease contracts and the calculation of lease liabilities and right-of-use assets
4. Performing balance sheet and income statement reconciliations, identifying and resolving any discrepancies
5. Assisting in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, analyzing variances and providing feedback to management
6. Participating in financial audits, coordinating with internal and external auditors to ensure compliance
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
2. Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or related field, preferably in the manufacturing industry
3. Strong knowledge of ASC 842 and experience with its implementation
4. Proven ability to prepare and post journal entries and to assist in month-end close
5. Excellent understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting and their application
6. Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
7. Strong analytical skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
