Position Purpose:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Senior Staff Accountant to assist the Controller with month end close, account reconciliations, assisting with audits and tax filings. This position requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and a keen attention to detail. The Senior Staff Accountant plays a critical role in ensuring the integrity of financial data, supporting the accounting team, and contributing to efficient financial operations across the organization.

Position Purpose:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Senior Staff Accountant to assist the Controller with month end close, account reconciliations, assisting with audits and tax filings. This position requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and a keen attention to detail. The Senior Staff Accountant plays a critical role in ensuring the integrity of financial data, supporting the accounting team, and contributing to efficient financial operations across the organization.
- Review and Reconcile Accounts:
- Reconcile all balance sheet accounts, including bank accounts, accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed assets, and accrued liabilities.
- Ensure that all transactions for the period have been recorded accurately.
- Investigate and resolve any discrepancies
- Post Journal Entries:
- Prepare and post necessary journal entries to record month-end adjustments, such as accruals, prepaids, depreciation and amortization.
- Ensure proper coding and classification of entries to the correct accounts.
- Audit Preparation:
- Compile and organize supporting documentation for external audits.
- Address any audit queries related to month-end transactions or balances.
- Monitor and Report Variances:
- Compare actual results against budgeted or forecasted figures.
- Investigate and report on any significant variances, providing explanations and recommendations as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience with focus on general accounting, financial reporting, and reconciliation.
- Prior recent experience with MS Dynamics/Great Plains is required.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis)
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication skills
- Enthusiasm and a desire to learn and grow
Work Schedule:
- Full Time Exempt Position
- Mondays through Fridays, 8:00am to 5:00pm
- Work hours may extend based on business operation needs
- This position is expected to be in the office location on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
Environmental Factors:
- Work is performed indoors in a typical office environment
Physical Skills and Abilities:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Hand-eye coordination, arm, hand, and finger dexterity including ability to grasp and operate equipment
- Visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment, and read technical information
