The ideal candidate will have strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills. Experience within the nuclear power industry and knowledge of the information technology field are desirable.
Position Purpose
This role will serve as the primary liaison for the business area and act as the catalyst to the capability teams. This role will build and maintain strategic partnerships with TVA business areas and integrates business area’s strategies into TVA’s technology priorities. Maintain contact and communication with the Capability Managers, Capability Specialists, and other project team members to identify relevant technologies that address the needs of the business area’s portfolios with a focus on enterprise-consistent solutions. Pulls and maintains relevant resources in order to achieve and help drive standardization in fulfilling technology requests. Other responsibilities include reports on status of projects to key stakeholders, advanced business area acumen, and ability to understand current technology needs while articulating creative solutions. Helps business areas implement services while planning projects effectively. Will provide cross organizational coordination and services for Information Technology for a value-added solution.
Principal Accountabilities
+ Serves as the primary liaison between the business area and TVA Information Technology (IT)
+ Initiates and maintains strategic partnerships with TVA business areas to apply knowledge of the business and provide appropriate technology by understanding the goals & strategic initiatives.
+ Partners with TVA IT Capabilities Managers and Capability Specialists to identify technologies that address business area needs with a focus on enterprise-consistent solutions
+ Maintains a high level of customer focus and engagement to deliver an informed solution that is supportive of IT’s objectives.
+ Engages the business to help drive standard solution adoption and usage
+ Advises and provides guidance for business areas on developing & progressively maintaining its multi-year Technology Plan to ensure alignment to the Enterprise IT Strategic Plan and business budget.
+ Ensures the strategic direction of the business area is clearly understood and IT implications are identified and anticipated
+ Communicates the business area’s technology needs to capability area(s) to ensure that technology priorities are established
+ Leads the capability area in developing investment requests, as needed, which clearly articulate business requirements, appropriate use of technology, and value-added benefits for the business area and for TVA
+ Reports to business leaders on status of projects, large initiatives, and in-progress work
+ Ensures that the business areas understand the importance of common IT standards and the implications of non-compliance
+ Shares and promotes IT best practices and standards with the business area
+ Manages business area expectations for IT and communicates these across TVA IT organization
Minimum Requirements
Education - A Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, business administration, math, or related field; or equivalent education, training & experience; must possess a strong desire to learn and grow professionally. Advanced degree preferred.
Experience - At least 8 years’ experience delivering IT products, projects, services, direct business engagement or related discipline including specific business area experience.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities - Demonstrated ability to maintain high performance under stressful situations and resource/time constraints. Demonstrated managerial competencies such as leadership, delegation, teamwork, negotiation, plan development, and flexibility. Demonstrated oral and written communication skills with the ability to converse and convey complex technical and people related matters at all levels of the organization. Demonstrated ability to engage technology professionals. Ability to facilitate collaboration within diverse objectives. Possesses working knowledge of TVA processes, programs, and practices. Ability to analyze complex technical and management problems and determine best solutions. Ability to understand and perform economic and decision support analysis. Demonstrates and drives TVA competencies on a daily basis. Self-motivated and ability to work independently on tasks, with the exception of the most complex issues. Must have strong executive presence and influencing skills. Must have strong technical computer skills, including advanced working knowledge of MS Excel and PowerPoint. Must be able and willing to travel to plant, corporate and satellite locations as needed. Candidate may be required to obtain and maintain a security clearance based on position / access requirements and essential job functions.
