Senior Solution Architect, Data - VP - State Street Bank

Who we are looking forAs Senior Solution Architect for Data, you will play a crucial role in enabling the bank to achieve its goals through strategic investments in technology solutions.
Leveraging your experience in AWS or Azure and Data solutions, you will lead technical discussions and design solutions with project teams, guiding them to extract maximum value from our technology investments and identifying solutions to overcome challenges hindering the success of their data and AI projects.
We are looking for a Data Solution Architect with expertise in designing and implementing data solutions on our new multi-cloud platform including AWS, Azure, Databricks, Snowflake, Starburst, Oracle, and Exadata.
This role is critical to the development of our enterprise data strategy that supports building of AI driven Data Fabric for the organization.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cloud-based data architectures, analytics, and big data solutionsWhat you will be responsible forAs Senior Solution Architect, Data you will:Creates, evaluate, and implement plans and design proposals for high impact IT solutions and their use involving leading edge technologies and methods considering key factors such as their long-term effectiveness (service delivery and cost), practicality, technical limitations, and criticality.Keep abreast with technology trends (innovative and disruptive) affecting the bankUnderstand data pipelines to promote efficient enterprise data flowUnderstand data cleansing and data mining strategies to allow ML and AI solutionsLead or contribute to designs applied to all aspects of business systems and/or infrastructure prototypes and eventual implementation.Perform work of high complexity and derive logical processes based on technical platforms.Engage in performance/integration testing, problem analysis, business, and technical analysis.Possess broad and deep skills across disciplines, serving as a mentor to others.Work with business SMEs, enterprise architects and developers to aid in the design and implementation of relational and dimensional data models.Develop and maintain best practices and standards related to data integration between systems and data within systems.Consult on design and implementation of data delivery tools and master data solutionsCollaborate with the broader architecture community to ensure that their solutions align with target architectures and technology roadmapsPreparation and presentation of project documentation for the application team partnersParticipate in code reviews to ensure new code conforms to highest standardsSupervise the migration of data from legacy systems to new solutionsMonitor performance and advise necessary infrastructure changesWork with IT security teams to ensure that the data solutions comply with data privacy and security policies and regulations.Maintain a holistic view of data and information strategy, architecture, governance, processes, and flows.What we valueThese skills will help you succeed in this roleDemonstrable experience as an architect for a large organization in major software domainsExperience with AWS (RDS, Redshift, DynamoDB), SQL (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL), Snowflake, Databricks, Starburst, and ingestion transform toolsExperience with real-time streaming and AI/ML data pipelines and modelingExperience serving as architect for applications on cloud infrastructureHands-on experience in building Data lake/Data lakehouse/Data Mesh/Data Fabric architectureStrong leadership, problem solving, communication, and influencing skillsComfortable working both individually and as part of a highly collaborative teamExperience with Compliance and Data governance (GDPR, SOX, etc.)Outstanding organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills (verbal/presentation/written)Ability to facilitate dynamic meetings and discussionsStrong Business Acumen, can express and model the purpose of data in business contextAbility to mentor and guide data engineersEducation & Preferred QualificationsBachelor’s degree or beyond and 10 years or more work experience in related rolesProven experience of 5+ years as a Data Solution Architect or similar role, with a strong background in software development and architecture.
15+ years of total IT experience.Expertise in designing and implementing scalable, distributed, and highly available enterprise solutions.Proficiency in architectural modeling tools and techniques (e.g., UML).In-depth knowledge of cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)Working experience on data technologies like Snowflake, DataBricks, Airflow, Kafka, Apache Airflow, Teradata, Hadoop, spark, Amazon redshift, etc., and traditional SQL databases Oracle, Exadata, SQL Server, etc.Proficient in SQL and familiar with programming languages such as Python or Java.Knowledge of data modeling, data governance, and data integration techniques.Knowledge of enterprise BI and analyticsUnderstanding of industry-vertical applicationKnowledge of underlying infrastructure for Big Data SolutionsExpertise in large distributed Big Data Application deploymentExperience in designing, building, and operating cloud servicesProficient with planning tools MS Project, Excel, PPTAre you the right candidate?
