We're seeking a senior-level Software Engineer with strong C++ skills to join our autonomy team. Prior autonomy experience is helpful but not required if you have a willingness to learn! You will have the opportunity to work on diverse robotics challenges facing the DoD and commercial markets, ranging from control of large construction equipment, 3D scene reconstruction, and self-driving off-road vehicles. You will collaborate with a strong team of scientists, engineers, and technicians to help drive critical architecture decisions within our machine learning and computer vision pipeline.
What You’ll Do
- Enhance unified back-end architecture that coordinates tasking for multi-platform autonomy behaviors across a wide variety of autonomous ground vehicles
- Contribute to a multi-contractor team working to develop/test/validate the U.S. DoD’s latest autonomous vehicle system software
- Simulate scenarios using tools such as Unreal Engine
- Work with other team members (inside and outside of Neya) to provide ROS-compatible datasets for communication within the target architecture
- Lead in the development and implementation of unit testing of code using simulation tools and actual hardware
- Identify new opportunities to deploy autonomy, target customers and customer engagement
What We’re Looking For
- B.S./M.S. in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, etc. or equivalent in industry experience
- 8+ years of relevant industry experience
- Highly skilled in writing production-quality object-oriented code in C++, using a git-based workflow in a Linux environment
- Expert in applying modern software principles, architecture, and design
- Excellent mathematical reasoning skills, especially with probability
- Proficient with unit testing suites such as GTest, CppUnit
- Expert understanding of Agile software development cycle and development methodology
- Extensive experience with sensor data processing sensor error modeling, environment modeling, and simulation tools
- Willingness to learn!
