Position Summary :
This team is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their dynamic team, where you'll play a pivotal role in developing innovative embedded systems that align with their mission of driving technological progress in the space/defense sectors. A top secret/secret clearance is not required for this role; however, due to the sensitive nature of these projects, their details will not be disclosed until your start date.
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will :
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and maintain high-quality software solutions that meet stringent industry standards.
- Leverage your expertise in C/C++ to craft efficient and high-performance software that's tailored to the specific needs of the Aerospace, Defense, and DoD sectors.
- Work with Linux-based systems and contribute to GUI development, ensuring that the user experience aligns with the high expectations of these industries.
- Engage in hardware bring-up using interfaces like GPIO, SPI, I2C, UART, etc, to create robust and reliable software/hardware interactions.
- Apply your strong debugging skills to identify and resolve issues at the software/hardware boundary, with a keen focus on optimizing system performance.
- Communicate effectively with team members, create detailed specifications, and maintain comprehensive documentation, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
- Ensure strict adherence to industry standards and best practices, especially those applicable to Aerospace and Defense, such as DO-330, DO-254, and DO-178.
- Utilize your prior experience in the Defense and Aerospace sectors to drive innovation in their technology solutions, catering to the specific needs of these industries.
To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following basic qualifications :
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
- A minimum of 5 to 7 years of relevant technical engineering experience
- Proficiency in C/C++ for the creation of efficient and high-performance software tailored to the Aerospace, Defense, and DoD sectors.
- Experience working with Linux-based systems and a proven track record in GUI development.
- Familiarity with hardware interfaces such as GPIO, SPI, I2C, UART, etc.
- Strong debugging skills, particularly at the software/hardware boundary.
- Excellent communication, specification, and documentation skills to facilitate collaboration and innovation.
- U.S. citizenship is a mandatory requirement, as many projects may involve classified information and DoD contracts.
Additionally, the following qualifications are highly desirable:
Experience with FPGA coding, showcasing your ability to work with cutting-edge technology, which is often essential in the Aerospace and Defense sectors.
Proficiency with Aerospace and Defense standards, including DO-330, DO-254, and DO-178, ensuring strict compliance with industry-specific requirements.
Prior experience working in the Defense and Aerospace industry, enabling you to bring invaluable insights, experience, and domain knowledge to their team.
