About the Job
Lord Abbett is seeking a Senior Software Engineer who is self-driven, motivated to achieve results, with a high standard for work deliverables, to join the Investment Platforms team. You will be responsible for developing various modules of our portfolio modeling and order management applications managed by investment platform technology team for our SMA business. This is an opportunity to join a fast-paced environment, with ability to learn about the asset management industry and have an impact on many strategic initiatives around investment Platforms.
We’ll trust you to::- Design and develop our next generation order management and trading systems supporting our SMA Investment Professionals.
- Analyze existing software code, update code to meet the enhancement needs.
- Work closely with business team and stakeholders to understand the business requirements.
- Design, implement and maintain data pipelines for both inbound and outbound data interfaces to integrate with both internal and external systems.
- Innovate by applying advanced analytical thinking and knowledge of related fields to enable digital transformation to enhance business workflows.
- Take ownership of stewarding the culture with your colleagues.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree or equivalent experience with 12+ years of experience in applications developing, testing, documentation, production support, modern web applications using Rest API, caching, Kafka and J2EE/JAVA Architecture.
- Strong experience in Spring Framework such as Spring MVC, IOC, AOP and Spring JDBC.
- Experience in building Restful web API with Spring, Spring Boot.
- Unit and integration testing using Junit and Mockito.
- Experience in React or knowledge of frontend frameworks and web technologies.
- Familiar with DevOps tools and experience in CI/CD software.
- Experience in database system like SQL Server, PostgreSQL is a must.
- Good problem solving, intellectual curiosity and analytical abilities
- Demonstrates good communication skills and comfortable working with many teams
- Should have diverse financial experience in front office technologies and processes.
- Knowledge of municipal trading and tools will be plus.
- Ability to work in large, collaborative teams to achieve organizational goals

Compensation Information: Annual base salary for this role is $160,000 - $180,000. Salary is estimated for this role. Actual pay may be different.
Discretionary Bonus: Role may be eligible to receive an annual discretionary bonus. Discretionary bonuses are determined by several factors including, but not limited to, firm, team, and individual performance.
