We are the Microsoft CoreOS Base Kernel team and we work on technologies which cover an amazing breadth of scenarios, and have a proven track record for innovative work. This includes: containers and mixed architecture computing, next generation cloud technology, resource and service management, core infrastructure for app platforms, kernel security improvements, next generation processor integration, Windows on ARM64, and much, much more!
**Responsibilities**
In this role, you will work with a team of engineers to design, implement, and maintain features for Windows across a variety of platforms and architectures. You'll be an integral part of a small and highly technical team, working on critical and strategic projects as you drive innovation across the industry. This is a highly visible and impactful role with a clear link to the success of Microsoft as a company.

**Qualifications**
Required Qualifications:
+ BS in Computer Science or related discipline, or equivalent industry experience
+ 3+ years of commercial software development experience in C or C++ Familiarity with Windows and/or Linux operating systems internals and concepts
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings:
**Microsoft Cloud Background Check** : This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter
