About the Job
Abnormal Security is looking for a Senior Software Engineer who is passionate about Security & Privacy to join the Platform Security team building platform services and components of the company infrastructure to enforce secure-by-design and secure-by-default standards across the board. This role will design, develop, release and continue to adapt Secure Service to Service communication frameworks and toolings, Customer Data Security & Privacy workflows, and then integrate them with Security Operational analytics and auditing services to monitor, protect, and secure Abnormal infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have
• Practical Security mindset - ability to identify potential security flaws in any step of the software development lifecycle and propose reasonable solutions to address business needs.
• Ability to translate Security & Privacy requirements into technical requirements and drive end to end execution of the projects.
• Ability to facilitate and drive cross team collaboration with product engineering teams to adopt security best practices and secure-by-design platform services and components.
• Opportunity to grow into a leadership position on the team - set, own, and deliver key Platform Infrastructure division’s deliverables with cross divisional impact.
What you will do
• Apply Practical Security mindset and principles to technical design and development while balancing out business requirements and infrastructure cost.
• Own, lead, and deliver large projects for the Platform Security team that enforces Security & Privacy standards to continuously support the company market expansion toward many geographical locations and multiple product offerings.
• Design and develop secure and scalable customer integration frameworks and toolings to integrate Abnormal ecosystem with external applications such as Salesforce, Slack, Github, Zoom, etc… to enable Secure by design Multi Product Platform.
• Reconcile Platform and Security requirements to build a secure platform while enabling global engineering teams to deliver high quality software at high velocity.
• Actively mentor and level up junior team members
Must Haves
• BS degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or other related engineering field.
• 5+ years of experience as a Software Engineer.
• Strong software development, CAP theorem, and system design tradeoffs.
• Experience with Authentication & Authorization and Network Security problem space, best practices, and related technologies.
• Ability to differentiate must-have versus nice-to-have Security and Privacy requirements.
• Proven track record of leading complex projects and delivering high quality software.
• Experience with Golang and Python programming languages.

• Ability to prioritize, articulate business tradeoffs, and cut scopes to deliver the most important business objectives in a timely manner.
• Experience leading small teams delivering multi-quarter projects or initiatives.
