We are seeking a Full Time, Permanent Senior Software Engineer to join our Team.
The Senior Software Engineer plays a primary role in designing, architecting and developing the organization’s custom software applications to enhance our services.
They must be experienced working across the entire Software Development Lifecycle: Discovery -> Requirements -> Design -> Data Modeling -> Development -> Deployment -> Maintenance.
Ideal candidates will confidently make key architectural decisions on complex projects.
They will have excellent communications skills and an ability to quickly understand business processes.
The Senior Software Engineer will lead the development team and be willing to mentor junior team members.
Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create high-quality products.
* Develop maintainable code adhering to industry best practices.
* Test new features to ensure smooth execution without disruption.
* Lead software development efforts across the entire software development lifecycle.
* Optimize application performance ensuring responsiveness, efficient code execution, reliability, and scalability.
* Secure applications by implementing industry best practices to protect member data.
* Learn continuously to stay current with the latest trends and technologies.
* Mentor and supervise junior team members.
* Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Experience:
Qualifications:
* 8+ years of experience in software development, designing and building web applications and headless server applications (Ruby and/or Python preferred).
* Experience with agile methodologies and software development tools, e.g., source control systems, compilers, and debuggers.
* Strong understanding of front-end and back-end development, including RESTful APIs, databases, and user interfaces.
* 5+ years of experience in database modeling with relational databases (MySQL and/or Postgres preferred).
* 5+ years of experience in cloud administration (AWS preferred).
* Dev Ops / infrastructure as code experience (Docker and/or AWS CloudFormation preferred).
* Eagerness to learn new languages and development frameworks.
* Self-starter with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
* Passion for solving complex problems in a fast-paced environment.
Education and Certification:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.
Physical Requirements:
* Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
* Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
