About the Job
As a Senior Software Engineer at our company, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of voting systems. You'll join our dynamic team of developers in designing and enhancing precinct and central count voting systems. Responsibilities:
Design and develop features and enhancements for precinct scanning and accessible marking devices.
Contribute clean, well-factored code that simplifies complex tasks.
Participate in all stages of product development, from planning to deployment.
Investigate and resolve product issues promptly.
Advocate for continuous improvements in workflow automation.
Provide support during elections as needed.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
Mentor junior team members and provide technical guidance.
Desired Skills & Experience:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field.
7+ years of experience in software engineering.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Commitment to best software engineering practices.
Proficiency in Python, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and other relevant technologies.
Experience with automated testing and issue tracking systems.
Familiarity with agile development methodologies.
Ability to understand and refactor complex software systems.
Ownership mentality and a growth mindset.
Nice to Haves:
Experience with low-level Linux features and C programming.
Familiarity with government standards and certification processes.
Prior experience in the elections industry is not required.
