About the Job
Senior Software Engineer in Aurora, Colorado is available with GeoLogics top Aerospace & Defense company. In this job you will work onsite with a team of skilled Software Engineers developing Satellite Ground Stations Software in Java. To qualify for this job you will have an active Department of Defense Secret security clearance; U.S. Citizenship required.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain Java-based backend applications for satellite ground systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and implement robust server-side solutions.
- Modify and improve existing codebases for enhanced performance and scalability.
- Conduct software design and code reviews, integrating best practices and innovations.
- Contribute to all phases of the software development lifecycle, ensuring adherence to Agile principles.
- Participate in system integration and project milestone completion under guidance from supervisors.
- Keep abreast of advancements in Java and related technologies to drive continuous innovation.
Required Skills & Experience
- Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required.
- Bachelor's degree in (STEM) and 5+ years relevant or equivalent experience
- Software development experience using Java or other object-oriented software language.
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Java strongly preferred.
- Experience with C++ and Python.
- Experience working with the Atlassian Tool suite.
- Experience developing software in an Agile and/or DevOps environments.
- Previous work satellite GPS software desirable.
- Experience with one or more areas of satellite ground system software such as mission management, planning and scheduling, command and telemetry, satellite

- Title: Senior Software Engineer (US Citizenship REQUIRED)
- Clearance: Active Secret
- Location: Aurora, Colorado 80011 (No relocation package)
- Pay Range: $80/hr - $90.84/hr W2 (no health benefits while on contract-an hour worked is an hour paid)
- Type: W2 hourly Contract (40 hrs), No 1099, No third parties, No C2C
- Duration: This position will transition to a full time, direct hire with our customer.
