Senior Software Developer - JRC Integrated Systems, LLC

JRC’s Strategic Defense & International Operations is actively searching for a Senior Software Developer to join our amazing team in Dahlgren, VA supporting the Missile Defense Agency’s (MDA) Hypervelocity Gun Weapon System. In this critical role, you will have the opportunity to be a player coach entrusted with the more challenging coding tasks coupled with mentoring junior developers.

As the Senior Software Developer, you will...

• Provide software development, modification, production, and maintenance of weapon system modeling libraries.
• Work closely across software engineers to develop and test rapid prototype systems using an Agile development method.
• Support and develop test procedures to test system functionality and generate software troubleshoot reports.
• Prepare documentation and support configuration management guidelines.
• Define task details, estimates, and schedules using Microsoft Office products (e.g., Excel, Project, PowerPoint, and Word).

What you bring to the table...

• A Bachelor of Science (BS) degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline
• 6+ years of professional experience software design, coding, and compilation of code; debugging; computer or software requirements management, and computer systems or software integration
• Proficient with C++, Linux and migrating code bases to a Red Had distribution
• An active security clearance at the SECRET level
• Experience with fire control/fire direction system
• Experience developing and debugging on large code base, complex, distributed systems
• An ability to work independently and interface professionally with other government agencies, contractors and military personnel.

Bonus Points for...

• Cross-language proficiency, ability to inspect, modify, and code in other languages as necessary (e.g., Python, Bash Scripting, JavaScript) is preferred
• Weapons systems and/or Navy programs experience coupled with C++ 11 preferred
