Position Description:
LCG Growth team is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Software Architect (Part Time) to provide technical leadership and strategic direction for the design, development, and maintenance of organizational systems. The Software Architect will ensure the architecture and functionality of multiple systems align with business objectives and comply with federal standards. This role involves overseeing application enhancements, customizations, database administration, workflow management, and compliance with applicable accessibility and security requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities:
System Design and Architecture
- Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of solutions for systems, including but not limited to SharePoint sites, .NET applications, and SQL databases.
- Oversee system migrations and modernizations, such as transitioning workflows to Power tools on SharePoint Online.
- Ensure all system designs comply with applicable security policies and other federal requirements.
Operations and Maintenance
- Maintain and enhance various systems to support organizational objectives.
- Perform routine system and application maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and implement patches to address vulnerabilities.
- Collaborate with IT teams to support infrastructure needs and ensure stable production environments.
Custom Development
- Develop workflows, dashboards, and reports to support business processes, including approval tracking, lifecycle management, and metrics display.
- Provide technical leadership for enhancements to existing systems and development of new applications.
- Develop and maintain custom web applications using .NET, ensuring compatibility across browsers and devices.
Governance and Compliance
- Define governance plans for systems, ensuring alignment with security and privacy standards.
- Ensure all systems and documentation meet accessibility standards such as Section 508 compliance.
- Maintain security documentation and ensure systems meet applicable compliance requirements.
Documentation and Training
- Create and update technical and user documentation, including system user guides, administrator manuals, and training materials.
- Provide training sessions to staff and stakeholders on new and existing system functionalities.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Work closely with program leads, stakeholders, and external contractors to gather and refine requirements.
- Use Agile methodologies to manage system enhancements and new development projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum 10 years of experience in software development and architecture.
- Proven expertise in designing and managing SharePoint environments, including SharePoint Online.
- Extensive experience with .NET, SQL Server, and modern web development frameworks.
- Strong knowledge of Agile development methodologies and tools such as JIRA.
- Experience with accessibility compliance standards (e.g., Section 508) and database administration for Microsoft SQL databases.
- Certifications (Preferred):
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert or equivalent.
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent Agile certifications.
- Section 508 Trusted Tester Certification.
- ITIL certification.
Skills
- Advanced problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to create comprehensive technical documentation.
- Ability to manage and lead cross-functional teams.
- Strong understanding of federal IT security and privacy requirements.
Compensation and Benefits
The projected compensation range for this position is $126,100 to $158,800 per year benchmarked in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. The target salary is $140,800 per year. Salary at LCG is determined by various factors, including but not limited to role, location, the combination of education/training, knowledge, skills, competencies, certifications, and work experience.
