About the Job
- Traffic Signal Retiming: Lead projects related to signal retiming, including the development, implementation, and optimization of timing plans for coordinated and isolated systems
- Design: Create plans and specifications for traffic signal systems, isolated signals, intersection improvements, and signing and marking projects
- Traffic Studies & Analysis: Conduct traffic studies and operational analysis using VISSIM, Synchro, and other tools to assess traffic flow and signal operations
- Advanced Traffic Management Systems (ATMS): Apply systems engineering principles for the development and deployment of signal and other ATMS
- Field Work: Perform field verifications of existing and proposed traffic control devices and make recommendations for improvements
- Technical Reports & Client Delivery: Prepare traffic engineering reports, conceptual designs, and technical deliverables, ensuring on-time and on-budget completion
- Coordination: Provide technical support and task management for multi-disciplinary transportation projects, collaborating with roadway, structures, environmental, and other teams
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering required
- GA Professional Engineering (PE) license or able to obtain in 3 - 6 months
- 10-15 + years of progressively responsible traffic operations experience, with a specific focus on traffic signal retiming
- Strong working knowledge of Synchro, SimTraffic, and TRU - Traffic
- Familiarity with traffic engineering principles, including HCM, MUTCD, ADA, and FHWA standards
- Experience with MicroStation and GDOT guidelines (or equivalent)
- Strong technical writing and communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
