We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Permanent Senior Seismologist to join our dynamic engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting comprehensive seismological analysis, developing ground motion models, and playing a key role in seismic hazard analysis. This role is ideally suited to an individual with a strong background in Earthquake Engineering and a passion for utilizing their skills to make a tangible difference in the field of engineering.
Responsibilities:
As a Permanent Senior Seismologist, your main responsibilities will include:
1. Developing and implementing ground motion models and conducting seismic hazard analysis.
2. Performing comprehensive seismic analysis to assess the structural integrity of engineering projects.
3. Utilizing HAZ45 for seismic hazard analysis and contributing to the enhancement of our existing models.
4. Conducting both ergodic and non-ergodic analysis to evaluate the potential impact of seismic activity.
5. Collaborating with the engineering team to develop earthquake-resistant structures and systems.
6. Keeping abreast of the latest advancements in seismology and earthquake engineering and integrating new knowledge into your work.
7. Communicating complex seismological concepts and findings to a range of stakeholders, including project managers, engineers, and clients.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Permanent Senior Seismologist role should possess the following qualifications:
1. A Bachelor's, Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Seismology, Geophysics, Earthquake Engineering, or a related field.
2. A minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the engineering industry.
3. Proven experience in developing ground motion models and conducting seismic hazard analysis.
4. Familiarity with HAZ45 or similar seismic hazard analysis tools is a plus.
5. Proficiency in conducting both ergodic and non-ergodic analysis.
6. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
7. Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts in a clear and concise manner.
8. A passion for seismology and a commitment to staying updated with the latest advancements in the field.
