About the Job
We are looking for a driven and experienced sales representative to join our team, specializing in custom office furniture. Our company offers unique, made-to-order furniture that is tailored specifically to the needs of each client. This bespoke approach is a key differentiator in the market, and we are seeking a salesperson who can effectively communicate the value of our custom solutions. If you have experience in selling office furniture, particularly to non-profits, charity organizations, and wholesale clients, this is an exciting opportunity.
Responsibilities:
- Generate Leads and Drive Sales: You will be responsible for identifying and nurturing new business opportunities, especially in markets such as non-profits, charity organizations, and wholesale accounts. By actively prospecting and cultivating relationships, you'll position our company as the go-to provider for custom office furniture. Your ability to uncover customer needs and create tailored solutions will be critical to success.
- Consultative Selling: Engage with clients to understand their unique requirements and design customized office furniture solutions. As a consultative sales expert, you'll guide clients through the decision-making process, educating them about the benefits of our made-to-order furniture. This involves discussing design options, customization features, and how our products can improve their workspace functionality and aesthetic.
- Sales Cycle Management: Oversee the full sales process—from initial contact to final closing. This includes conducting product demonstrations, presenting proposals, negotiating terms, and finalizing contracts. Throughout the sales cycle, you'll ensure a smooth experience for the client while addressing any concerns promptly to maintain momentum.
- Client Relationship Management: Building long-lasting, trust-based relationships with clients is key to our success. After securing a sale, you'll continue to engage with clients, ensuring satisfaction and offering additional solutions as their needs evolve. You'll also encourage repeat business and referrals by providing exceptional customer service and support.
- Product Knowledge and Market Insight: Stay up to date with the latest trends in office furniture, particularly within custom designs and emerging client preferences. Your role will require you to continually educate yourself about new product offerings and market trends, ensuring you're equipped to offer innovative solutions that meet client demands. Additionally, you'll monitor competitors' offerings and pricing strategies to stay competitive.
- Collaboration with Internal Teams: You will regularly communicate with the production and design teams to ensure that client orders are translated into tangible, high-quality products. This will involve managing expectations, coordinating custom orders, and providing feedback from clients to improve our offerings. You will also liaise with installation teams to ensure seamless delivery and setup of products.
- Sales Targets and Reporting: Meet and exceed individual sales goals while contributing to the company's overall growth objectives. You'll be expected to report regularly on sales performance, forecast future opportunities, and track key metrics using CRM systems to ensure accountability and alignment with business goals.
- On-site Collaboration: As part of your hybrid role, you will be required to visit the Monsey office once a week. These visits will allow for face-to-face collaboration with colleagues, training sessions, and meetings to discuss key accounts, product updates, and strategic planning.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of sales experience, ideally in the office furniture or related industries.
- Experience selling to non-profits, charity organizations, and wholesale clients is a significant advantage.
- Excellent communication skills with a proven ability to build long-term client relationships.
- Strong sales skills with a history of meeting or exceeding targets.
- Familiarity with custom furniture design processes is preferred.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently while managing time effectively.
- Ability to travel to the Monsey office once a week for meetings and coordination.
Compensation:
- Base salary of $120,000 plus commission.
- Competitive commission structure with significant earning potential.
