Job Summary:
Dabri, Inc. is currently supporting the Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) on their ATMP Roadway Project, a high-profile initiative that focuses on the development and optimization of transportation infrastructure at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Transportation Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will contribute to the engineering development of roadway and infrastructure projects that directly impact one of the busiest airports in the world. This position is ideal for a professional with a strong background in transportation engineering and roadway design who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage transportation engineering tasks and projects, under the direction of the Project Manager, ensuring high-quality design and execution.
- Serve as the primary technical expert in the development and design of roadway and infrastructure projects, including evaluations of roadways, curb/gutter/sidewalk configurations, drainage systems, ADA compliance, bus stop placements, and more.
- Proficiently utilize CAD software, including Bentley Concept Station, Open Roads Designer, Autodesk Infraworks, and Civil 3D, to create and review base mapping and design files.
- Chair and manage meetings for ATMP landside stakeholders, ensuring that meeting minutes, action items, and follow-up items are documented and tracked.
- Oversee the work of CAD designers and assist in the preparation of roadway designs, including geometric layouts, alignment plans, and traffic management strategies.
- Evaluate and recommend appropriate solutions for existing utility constraints and potential relocations.
- Prepare concept-level designs, estimate quantities, and provide rough-order-of-magnitude (ROM) cost estimates.
- Participate in the entire project lifecycle from feasibility analysis to final design, through to construction.
- Collaborate with other ongoing projects to ensure seamless interface and integration across initiatives.
- Provide technical support during construction, ensuring compliance with design specifications and quality standards.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- 10 years experience in roadway engineering or a Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) with a minimum of 5 years of experience in all aspects of roadway engineering design.
- Extensive hands-on experience in the design and planning of roadway infrastructure, including intersection design, traffic management, and transportation planning.
- Proficiency in CAD-based engineering software, such as Bentley Concept Station, Open Roads Designer, Autodesk Infraworks, and Civil 3D.
- Strong knowledge of MS Office suite, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and lead teams, and coordinate across multiple stakeholders.
- Solid understanding of relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
- Experience working on Los Angeles World Airport (LAWA) or LA public projects.
- A proven track record in managing large-scale infrastructure projects.
