Sr. Revenue Accountant will be responsible for revenue accounting functions for assigned company assets and will provide critical financial support to the company. They will perform specific revenue accounting duties including revenue recognition and revenue analysis, invoice review and analysis, volumetric reconciliations, volume and value variance analysis, and supporting reporting responsibilities as required.

Sr. Revenue Accountant will be responsible for revenue accounting functions for assigned company assets and will provide critical financial support to the company. They will perform specific revenue accounting duties including revenue recognition and revenue analysis, invoice review and analysis, volumetric reconciliations, volume and value variance analysis, and supporting reporting responsibilities as required.
Responsibilities:
- Actively lead monthly close processes to ensure timely and accurate revenue bookings
- Oversee and review journal entries, balance sheet account reconciliations, and non-op cash receipts/revenue recordings for various assets.
- Generate revenue sales accruals for assigned assets.
- Review financial results variance analysis and ensure meaningful and accurate explanations for fluctuations to assist management with business decisions.
- Review revenue related agreements to guide appropriate accounting for various assets in accordance with contract terms. Ensure adherence to all revenue-related policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Commercial, Operations, Legal, Cost Accounting, Land, IT, and other Finance teams to ensure strategic alignment on business initiatives, specific transactions, system enhancements etc.
- Lead/support team of Accenture India revenue accountants in all aspects of revenue accounting for assigned assets.
- Act as a key liaison between management and internal/external audit teams to support any Partner, Sovereign and Annual audit requests.
- Execute controls pertaining to the revenue function.
- Drive process improvements and optimize efficiencies in the accounting and reporting areas, including elimination or streamlining of manual or non-effective tasks.
- Provide training for new and existing staff on applicable policies, protocols, systems, and procedures.
- Support Ad-hoc requests and special projects.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance with 12 hours of accounting preferred
- 5+ years experience in accounting
- Experience with Quorum preferred
- Revenue experience in East Texas or Louisiana preferred
- System savvy and ability to work with different applications and databases
- Highly proficient in advanced MS Excel including Pivot Tables and V-Lookups
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the demonstrated ability to work independently, yet cooperatively and constructively, in a team environment
- Must be able to proactively identify revenue issues and lead the team to drive towards solutions.
