Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Daily review of sales and labor reports.
- Reconciliation and review of third-party delivery platform transactions (e.g., DoorDash, Uber Eats), including processing refunds and troubleshooting issues.
- Managing regular period closing tasks, including bank reconciliations, account reconciliations, and assisting with COGS-related matters.
- Using accrual-based accounting practices to support financial reporting.
- Assisting with year-end reconciliations to prepare GAAP-compliant financial statements.
- Preparing and assisting with sales tax returns.
- Reconciling gift card liabilities and conducting breakage calculations.
- Reviewing and reconciling insurance policies and accruals.
- Supporting monthly tasks such as credit card and travel expense analyses.
- Contributing to the development and streamlining of processes and systems for a growing organization.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- Strong work ethic and an eagerness to grow within an expanding company.
- 5-10 years of accounting experience in the restaurant industry preferred.
- Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent professional experience; strong academic record is a plus.
- Knowledge of GAAP accounting principles is highly desirable.
- Superior written and verbal communication skills.
- Problem-solving mindset with an aptitude for innovation.
- Familiarity with and interest in a sustainability-focused lifestyle is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to handle a fast-paced work environment effectively.
- Proficiency in cultivating and improving accounting processes for a growing business.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Excel is required.
- Experience with Restaurant365 and Toast POS software is preferred.
- Ability to participate in meetings during West Coast business hours.
