Position Summary:
Job Responsibilities:

- Carry out a research plan in conjunction with the PIs
- Manage receipt and tracking of biological samples from the hospital clinical labs once in the research lab
- Isolate DNA RNA protein or metabolites form research and clinical samples and sequent biobanking
- Within the predetermined research scope independently conduct experiments including but not limited to: nbsp;basic molecular biology assays: PCR sequencing 2nd and 3rd generation sequencing etc
- Keeps meticulous records of the conduct and outcome of laboratory analyses
- Assists in experiments using established protocols and procedures and assists in implementing new procedures and protocols to support experiments
- Coordinates and conducts the transfer of samples between the program members as well as scientific and commercial collaborators nbsp;
- Be trained in the safe conduct of their research As appropriate training may be required including but not limited:
- Responsible Conduct of Laboratory and Human Subjects Research
- Chemical Biological and Radioactive Materials Safety
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Performs routine technical tasks and manage the general maintenance of the lab such as preparation of stock reagents and maintenance of lab supply inventory and safely categorizing and disposing of hazardous materials
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's of Science Degree in Life Sciences or a related field with three years of experience. Specialization in three or more laboratory procedures is required. A solid foundation in basic lab protocols as well as significant experience in areas such as procedures is essential and required. Possess the knowledge and experience in specific areas such as Biochemistry, Histology, Molecular Biology, Immunology, etc.
In lieu of education, at least 10 years of related experience in a lab setting. A solid foundation in basic lab protocols as well as significant experience in areas such as procedures is essential and required. Preferred Qualifications:
Extensive wet laboratory experience is desired and prior familiarity with LDT development will be highly valued Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $53,200.00 - $66,780.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
