Position Description
Job Summary
The Senior Research Technician safely performs advanced specialized technical functions involving testing, analyzing, improving, installing, operating, and/or solving problems concerning complex processes, equipment for gypsum boards (fire, lightweight, mold, and moisture), and finishing products.
Job objectives:
+ Supports engineers and scientists in the R&D team with their projects.
+ Executes and/or supports commercial and manufacturing support requests.
+ Manages and documents projects by creating concise and technically accurate summary reports effectively with supervision.
+ Conducts hands-on experimental work and ensures all products are tested and approved according to the company SOP.
+ Performs research and a variety of experiments, makes detailed observations, analyzes data, and interprets results.
+ Identifies opportunities that could impact sustainability with innovative solutions and works with R&D, operations, and technical teams to develop and deploy.
+ Understand/learn material properties that are critical to quality attributes.
+ Plays an active role in lab management: safety aspects, equipment maintenance, 5S, lab audit preparation and action follow-up, lab postings, regular equipment checks, etc.
+ Demonstrates an open and collaborative approach in all areas of responsibility
Required Qualifications
+ Associate degree in an engineering, technical, or science-related field, or demonstrated equivalent with 4-7 years of related experience
+ Knowledge of MS Office
+ Lab/plant experience preferred
