Job Description Summary

This leadership role, oversees and designs advanced experiments related to MASPs as therapeutic targets in complement-mediated diseases and Complement in Pathogenesis and Experimental Therapy of ANCA Disease. Assist the principal investigator and play a leading role in developing a research program in the advancement of specific area of study and will play a crucial role both in all aspects of research products including development, implementation, and data analysis. Assess proposed projects by conducting feasibility studies to provide valuable input regarding viability, efficiency, timeline, and study design. In the implementation stage, this role will supervise and perform the project. This includes overseeing workflow and productivity of lab personnel and providing training to them on specific techniques as necessary. Responsible for data analysis, preparation of manuscripts, and presenting research findings through various forums.

Job Responsibilities



+ Perform research on externally funded projects (“MASPs as therapeutic targets in complement-mediated diseases” and “Complement in Pathogenesis and Experimental Therapy of ANCA Disease”) relative independently with minimal supervision from the PI


+ Review, edit, format, and write manuscripts for publication and of grant proposals


+ Help the PI to supervise other junior researchers including research specialists and technicians, students and postdoctoral fellows


+ Other research and administrative duties


+ Other duties and responsibilities as assigned



Qualifications



+ Doctor of Philosophy, and 5 to 7 years of postdoctoral experience is required.
