Senior Research Associate, In-Vitro Cellular and Molecular Biology
Position Summary:
Our company is seeking a talented and experienced Senior Research Associate
to drive our discovery research and support our platform and pipeline. The successful candidate will independently design and execute in-vitro experiments, and present results internally and externally. Applicants should effectively communicate across internal multi-disciplinary teams, as well as with external collaborators and CROs. The candidate will need to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, data-driven, and results-oriented environment.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Independently design and execute cell-based and biochemical assays for screening and optimization of drug candidates.
- Culture of immortalized and primary cells.
- Process and analyze tissue samples from in-vivo studies.
- Perform and optimize biochemical assays such as qPCR, ELISA, reporter and signaling assays, IHC, IF.
- Analyze data utilizing Microsoft Office and GraphPad Prism.
- Maintain accurate and complete electronic laboratory notebooks in accordance with company policies.
- Establish & update SOP documentation for all relevant processes prepare & present research reports.
- Continuously seek and evaluate techniques and opportunities that will improve quality, efficiency or scalability of workflow.
- Additional preferred experience:
- Flow cytometry
- Small rodent handling and necropsy
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a biological science or related degree (e.g. Immunology, cancer biology, molecular biology, cell biology, biochemistry or biotechnology).
- 0-2 PhD, 3+ (MS) or 5+ (BS) years of experience in industry or academia.
- Strong attention to details and experience multitasking lab-based activities
- Expertise running mid- to high-throughput assays across multiple cell types with a focus on endothelial and epithelial cells. Experience with neuronal cell culture preferred.
- Experience developing/optimizing cell-based assays.
- Ability to work across multiple therapeutic areas and biology.
- Proficiency in Prism, Microsoft and electronic laboratory notebook compliance required.
- Must have strong organizational, oral and written communication skills.
