Position Summary:
We are seeking an exceptional and detail-oriented Senior Research Associate/Associate Scientist to join our Protein Sciences team. In this role, you will play a critical part in our protein engineering efforts by generating high-quality proteins to support downstream in vitro and in vivo experiments. The ideal candidate will excel in a fast-paced environment and contribute directly to shaping Evercrisp's scientific advancements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Express and purify recombinant proteins at small and large scale to support preclinical development of therapeutic proteins.
- Characterize proteins using established quality control (QC) workflows to ensure suitability for downstream applications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve challenges in protein purification and characterization processes.
- Maintain accurate protein inventory by registering and managing data in internal databases.
- Present results, interpret experimental data, and provide actionable insights during team meetings.
- Document experiments comprehensively and accurately in an electronic lab notebook (ELN).
- Communicate effectively in both oral and written formats to convey results and progress.
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's degree with 3+ years of industry experience or Master's degree in Biology, Biochemistry, or a related scientific field.
Technical Experience:
- At least 2 years of hands-on experience in protein purification and characterization.
- Proficiency with various expression systems, including bacterial and mammalian platforms.
- Expertise in protein purification techniques such as affinity capture, ion exchange, and size exclusion chromatography.
- Experience operating FPLC systems (e.g., AKTA, Bio-Rad NGC).
- Strong background in protein characterization methods, including SDS-PAGE and analytical SEC.
- Experience producing low-endotoxin proteins for in vivo studies.
- Knowledge of advanced protein characterization methods (e.g., DLS, ELISA, BLI) is a plus.
- Familiarity with medium or high-throughput expression and purification workflows is advantageous.
