The Oregon Pediatric Improvement Partnership (OPIP) supports a meaningful, long-term collaboration of stakeholders invested in child health care quality, with the common purpose of improving the health of the children and youth of Oregon. OPIP staff and projects are focusing on building health and improving outcomes for children and youth by:
- Collaborating in quality measurement and improvement activities
- Supporting evidence-guided quality activities
- Incorporating the patient and family voice into quality efforts
- Informing policies that support optimal health and development
OPIP is currently leading novel and transformative work focused on addressing: children’s social determinants of health, care for children with physical and behavioral health needs, access to child health services, and building health and resilience in young children with developmental, behavioral and social delays.
Function/Duties of Position:This Senior Research Assistant position is responsible for providing research assistance to support OPIP’s mission and the specific activities within the OPIP improvement activities.
OPIP is currently funded to support multiple projects on different topics, and this position will need to support the dynamic fast paced environment.
This includes assistance with scheduling meetings, writing summary notes from meetings, assistance with data collection, analysis, and display, and development/dissemination of reports.
Research assistance of meetings will include the coordination, set up, implementation, and documentation of meetings with steering and partner committee members, primary care practices, health systems, community partners, and individual meetings for the OPIP Senior Staff.
Research assistance on report and paper dissemination includes conducting literature reviews, drafting summary tables and materials, and providing assistance with the editing and formatting of reports and presentations.
This position will also support updating the OPIP website about the research projects and ensuring broad communication and coordination.
Required Qualifications:- Bachelor's in relevant field AND 1 years of relevant experience OR Equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Passion and commitment to improving the health of children in Oregon.
- Quick ability to assimilate fast paced information
- Flexibility in work tasks that arise each week.
- Ability to write and communicate effectively Excellent management, interpersonal and administrative skills for assisting in the day-to-day operation of complex and multiple projects.
- Excellent organization and prioritization skills.
- Knowledge of health care improvement strategies for children.
- Knowledge and experience with Smartsheets or other project management software, as well as Excel, Canva, and Visio.
- Strong analytical skills
- Data expertise
