Are you an experienced business development professional passionate about the agricultural industry? We are seeking a dynamic individual to join our team and drive growth in the agricultural finance sector. In this exciting role, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by providing valuable financial support to farmers and agribusinesses across the Pacific Northwest region.
Responsibilities:
1. Client-Focused Approach: Foster and build a strong presence in key production regions, actively engaging with clients and industry stakeholders to understand their unique financial needs.
2. Business Development: Identify and evaluate potential credit investment opportunities through proactive business development activities, such as attending industry events, networking, and building relationships with potential clients and partners.
3. Deal Origination and Analysis: Assist the team with analyzing and conducting due diligence on private investments (both credit and equity), including financial modeling, risk assessment, and underwriting.
4. Industry Research and Analysis: Perform and develop comprehensive industry/sector research and analysis to stay informed about market trends, regulatory changes, and competitive developments, ensuring that our strategies remain competitive and well-informed.
5. Reporting and Pipeline Management: Prepare regular reports and updates on sales activities, pipeline status, and market trends, ensuring transparency and effective communication within the organization.
6. Collaboration and Relationship Building: Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, including underwriters and loan officers, to facilitate the loan application process, ensure timely funding, and provide exceptional customer service throughout the loan lifecycle, fostering long-term relationships and client loyalty.
7. Marketing and Branding: Represent our organization at industry events, conferences, and trade shows, promoting our brand and networking with potential clients and partners.
8. Investment Memoranda and Presentations: Assist in the preparation of investment memorandums, present recommendations, and due diligence findings to internal committees and investors.
9. Fundraising Support: Support fundraising initiatives and investor needs, contributing to the overall growth and success of the organization.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, agriculture, or a related field; an advanced degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in agricultural finance, with a strong focus on loan origination and business development.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding targets and driving revenue growth.
- Excellent relationship management, sales, and business development skills.
- Strong understanding of agricultural lending principles, financial analysis, and risk assessment.
- Ability to comprehend and negotiate complex and sensitive transactions.
- Outstanding communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and credibility with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to work both independently and as a productive member of transaction teams.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
- Willingness to travel within the Pacific Northwest (Oregon, Washington, and Idaho) region as needed.
