The Senior Real Estate Paralegal provides comprehensive legal assistance to the General Counsel and legal team, handling documents and issues related to acquisitions, dispositions, joint ventures, leasing, financing, corporate compliance, legal compliance, litigation support, and other operational matters. They play a key role in supporting real estate due diligence and transactions across various business operations.
A Day in the Life of a Senior Real Estate Paralegal
- Draft, review, and manage commercial contracts and real estate documents, including confidentiality agreements, broker/vendor engagement letters, property management agreements, leases, and SaaS terms.
- Maintain corporate records, including governance documents, licensure, and compliance filings; handle EINs, LEIs, business licenses, and DBAs.
- Monitor annual reports and compliance filings; assist with Corporate Transparency Act requirements.
- Oversee contract lifecycle management and deadlines using software tools like Smart Sheet.
- Coordinate due diligence, transaction closings, and post-closing compliance for real estate and corporate transactions.
- Manage digital file organization, closing binders, and compliance tracking for operations.
- Support litigation and discovery, track deadlines, and liaise with claims adjusters and property staff.
- Conduct legal research and assist with HR-related legal matters.
Requirements for the Legal Accounting Assistant position
- Bachelor’s degree (paralegal certification preferred but not required).
- 7–10 years of paralegal experience, preferably in commercial real estate transactions (multifamily or development experience is a plus).
- Knowledge of corporate governance, compliance, and legal terminology; SEC filing experience not required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Smart Sheet, SharePoint, DocuSign, and Westlaw (preferred).
- Strong transaction coordination, project management, and contract review skills, with a focus on issue spotting and analytical thinking.
- Detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of maintaining confidentiality and exercising sound judgment.
- Familiarity with the Fair Housing Act, ADA, HIPAA, or data privacy is a plus but not required.
