SENIOR QUALITY TECHNICIAN - Spherion

Now hiring for Senior Quality Technician. Spherion of Rhode Island currently has Senior Quality Technician opportunities available to support our local, industry leading customer. Our Senior Quality Technician will be working a first shift with limited required OT. The Senior Quality Technician will support our customers in ensuring product quality by utilizing various measuring tools, conducting inspections, and managing quality processes. Mon thru Fri. Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Use measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, CMM, and optical systems for product inspections.
Perform visual inspections and ensure quality characteristics of components meet specifications.
Manage site calibration programs and maintain compliance with IATF 16949 and AS 9100 standards.
Conduct incoming material inspections and track discrepant materials through the DMR process.
Generate process capability and Statistical Quality Control (SQC) reports using software like Minitab.
Complete first and last article inspections promptly and accurately.
Create and review quality inspection plans based on customer part drawings and GD&T specifications.
Perform internal audits to ensure compliance with company and industry standards.
Follow all safety regulations, including PPE requirements, and comply with environmental policies.
Maintain workspace cleanliness and organization in line with 5S principles.
Record and report data accurately, escalating issues according to protocol.
Participate in continuous improvement projects to enhance output, quality, and efficiency.
Act as a reference for quality-related questions and provide recommendations to team members.
Cross-train in other quality roles, including materials testing, as assigned.
Handle raw materials and hazardous waste in an environmentally responsible manner.

Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Skills:
Read/interpret engineering drawings
Basic computer/data analysis
Detail-oriented and organized
Follow instructions precisely
Lift 50 lbs occasionally
Reliable attendance and stamina

Education:
High School

Experience:
4-7 years

Qualifications:
High school diploma/GED
5+ years as Quality Technician
Proficient in measurement tools
Knowledge of IATF/AS 9100
Experience with PPAP/PFMEA
