About the Job
The Senior Quality Inspector position is a challenging and critical position.
This position is responsible for the receipt and inspection of materials, equipment, and tooling to and from customers and or suppliers.
This position coordinates with the Quality Manager in the event of customer receipt and with the buyer/planners for supplier receipt.
• Inspection of all incoming packages and visually check for any damage to containers.
• Review and verify quantities received to PO requirements. Notify buyer/planner in the event of over or under amounts.
• Verify all paperwork required has been received (e.g., packing slips, certificate of conformance, inspection data, etc.)
• Verify product produced is to the drawing revision specified to the supplier.
• If product being received is a customer return or customer property, notify Quality Manager for disposition.
• Inspect received materials per sampling plan.
• Suggest improvements/modifications to sampling plan.
• Review root cause of returns from either the Assembly & Test personnel or customer to determine modifications necessary by the Quality department to avoid recurrence.
• Materials that do not meet drawing requirements are to be placed in quarantine and Quality Manager and buyer/planner should be notified.
• Delivery and/or pick up of materials as needed.
• Investigate Cost of Quality charges for reasonability, perform root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Ownership of calibration process & Calibration and tracking/recording of smaller hand-held measuring devices
• Floor inspections and audits
• Non-conforming material reporting
• Program CMM and provide training to others
• Perform FAIs
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by manager.
MIMINUM QUALIFICATION
• Background in use of CMM required
• Solid knowledge of all handheld measuring devices and associated gaging
• Proficient in GD&T
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Good written and oral communication skills
• Ability to work overtime as needed with short notice
• U.S. Citizen (no dual citizenship allowed)
• Familiar with AS9100 & FAA Repair Station Quality requirements.
