Senior Purchasing Agent - Homebuilder (Washington)

Do you have a passion for the building industry and a knack for securing the best deals?

One of our top clients looking for a seasoned Senior Purchasing Agent to join their growing team here in Washington! In this role, you'll leverage your expertise in the homebuilding industry to manage the procurement process for all our construction projects. You'll be responsible for sourcing materials, negotiating contracts with vendors, and ensuring on-time delivery within budget.

What you'll be doing:

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers in the building materials industry
• Negotiate and finalize contracts to secure the best pricing and terms
• Manage the purchasing process from requisition to receipt, ensuring adherence to company policies
• Oversee inventory control and implement strategies to minimize waste and optimize stock levels
• Stay current on market trends, pricing fluctuations, and new materials in the construction industry
• Identify and mitigate potential supply chain risks
• Work collaboratively with internal departments like project management and construction

We're looking for someone with:

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in purchasing within the homebuilding industry
• Proven track record of successfully negotiating contracts and securing cost savings
• Strong understanding of construction materials, building codes, and industry best practices
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Effective communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
• Proficient in MS Office Suite and purchasing software (a plus)
