Senior Property Accountant - Metro Atlanta - Creative Financial Staffing

Seeking a detail-oriented Senior Property Accountant to join a growing real estate investment team. The ideal candidate will have strong financial acumen and experience in property accounting, tax, and financial services.

Duties:

• Prepare monthly financial statements for assigned properties, including analyzing and reconciling balance sheet accounts.
• Perform accounting tasks such as bank reconciliations, management fee calculations, and journal entries.
• Reconcile bank statements monthly and research any reconciling items for cash accounts.
• Review accounts payable for accuracy, proper coding, and approval.
• Assist the Accounting Manager with special transactions like acquisitions, dispositions, and refinancing.
• Support external auditors during year-end audits for select properties.
• Meet internal and external reporting deadlines.
• Prepare wires and transfers for monthly distributions and mortgage payments.
• Assist the operations team with quarterly and annual budget projections.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in property accounting or a related field.
• Knowledge of tax laws related to property accounting.
• Familiarity with double-entry bookkeeping principles.
• Proficiency in accounting software, such as Yardi.
• Understanding of financial services and private equity concepts.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
