We are currently seeking an experienced, detail-oriented, and proactive Senior Property Accountant to join our dynamic team in the finance industry. This is a permanent, full-time position that offers an exciting opportunity to work with a reputable and growing company in Great Neck, NY. You will be responsible for handling the financial operations of our real estate properties, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with all regulatory standards. This position is perfect for those who thrive in a fast-paced environment and are eager to take on new challenges.
Responsibilities:
1. Manage all aspects of accounting for a portfolio of properties, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger entries, and bank reconciliations.
2. Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for assigned properties.
3. Conduct CAM reconciliations and prepare related tenant billings.
4. Work closely with property managers to ensure accurate and timely reporting of property-level financial results.
5. Assist in the budgeting and forecasting process for assigned properties.
6. Ensure compliance with company policies, relevant industry regulations, and accounting standards.
7. Implement and maintain internal financial controls and procedures.
8. Utilize AppFolio software for property accounting tasks.
9. Participate in special projects and perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
2. Minimum of 3 years of experience in property accounting, real estate accounting, or a related field.
3. Proficiency in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.
4. Strong experience with CAM reconciliations.
5. Familiarity with AppFolio software or similar property management/accounting software.
6. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
7. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
8. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
9. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
10. Strong knowledge of GAAP and other accounting principles.
11. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
12. Ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
