We are seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented Senior Property Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. This role is an exciting opportunity to apply your accounting expertise in a fast-paced, challenging environment. As a Senior Property Accountant, you will be responsible for the financial management of a portfolio of properties, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations, preparing financial reports, and conducting financial analysis. This position plays a pivotal role in our company's financial operations, making it an excellent opportunity for those looking for a dynamic and impactful role in the finance industry.
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee and manage all aspects of property accounting for a portfolio of properties, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulations.
2. Utilize MRI software to manage and maintain financial records, generate reports, and conduct financial analysis.
3. Prepare and reconcile CAM and Opex statements, ensuring accuracy and resolving any discrepancies.
4. Lead the month-end close process, including the preparation and review of journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and variance analysis.
5. Prepare and present financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
6. Collaborate with property managers and other stakeholders to ensure accurate financial reporting and provide financial insights.
7. Conduct financial analysis and provide recommendations to improve profitability and financial performance.
8. Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and procedures.
9. Participate in budgeting and forecasting activities, providing input and analysis to support decision-making.
10. Assist with audits and tax filings as required.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in property accounting, preferably in a senior role.
3. Proficiency in MRI accounting software is a plus.
4. Solid experience with CAM and Opex reconciliations.
5. Proven experience in managing the month-end close process.
6. Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and regulations.
7. Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
8. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.
9. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
10. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
11. CPA certification is a plus.
