The Role:
Orr Partners is a team of more than 30 professionals who support the real estate development and project/property management needs of commercial, educational, and government clients in the US. Orr Partners seeks a Senior Project Manager to work on projects in northern Virginia. This opportunity is perfect for those with strong relationship-building skills who are well-organized, have an interest in property development and project management, and actively seek professional growth and feedback from fellow real estate experts.
Responsibilities:
- Leading the project team and motivating team members.
- Creating and distributing weekly reports, including meeting minutes and task lists.
- Assisting in developing and assembling procurement documents such as RFPs, RFQs, Contracts, and exhibits.
- Creating and maintaining the project budget.
- Photographing project progress.
- Maintaining electronic project files, including Dropbox or other file-sharing systems. This includes filing electronic and paper files of all project email correspondence.
- Supporting the creation and maintenance of a Project Schedule.
- Developing strong working relationships with peers from other firms working with Orr Partners on projects.
- Responsible for personal travel to and from project sites, county offices, consultant, and client offices, necessary over the lifetime of a project.
- Asking questions and soliciting feedback from senior personnel to grow professionally and increase responsibilities over time.
Requirements:
- A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field.
- At least four years of experience in leading multi-family real estate development projects.
- Familiarity with Project Management methodologies.
- Experience managing and developing projects in heavy industry and manufacturing.
- Ability to work from a location in northern Virginia or DC metro.
- Strong, positive energy and excellent communication skills.
It’s a Plus if You Have:
- Project Management Professional (PMP)® certification
- OSHA training
- Experience with a general contractor, engineering firm, or architecture firm
- People management experience
