This specialty contractor in the greater Phoenix, AZ area, is a diversified contractor who navigates some of the most extensive drywall assemblies, interior painting and exterior framing.
POSITION SUMMARY:
We are looking for an ambitious and proven Senior Project Manager with a strong background in the commercial walls and ceiling industry to join this family-oriented and growing team! ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Management and accountability overseeing of all projects, either directly or through Project Managers and Engineers.
- Weekly review of job cost reports and management of all project budgets.
- Management and support of scheduling, manpower, tools, and materials.
- Responsible for maintaining a culture of safety, team, and quality.
- Establish and thoroughly maintain job projects in ERP system (Plexxis) and other software applications utilized within the business.
- Ensure monthly billings are thoroughly vetted, reviewed for all jobs and submitted in a timely manner.
- Work with estimators and assist with design and constructibility reviews in pre-construction.
- Accountable for: Project Financials (projections, material purchases, subcontracts, budget adjustments, financial forecasting, financial audits and change orders), project documents, critical success factors, customer satisfaction results, supporting accounting, and project completion.
- Management of Change Orders, including pricing and detailed documentation.
- Coordinate and approve Purchase Orders with Purchasing for all materials and deliveries.
- Generate, prepare, and maintain mandate sheets, cost code analysis, change order log, projected cost variance reports, budget details and job hours documentation related to each project, working with colleagues and third parties.
- Oversee Project Managers and Engineers in assembly of submittal packages, safety documentation and other relevant documents.
- Develop and maintain strong customer/client/vendor relationships.
- Walk projects weekly, and/or daily, as needed to ensure onsite presence occurs to increase success of the project(s).
- Conduct weekly audits including, but not limited to, the following: safety audits, material audits, production install audits, quality control audits, and other appropriate project management documentation.
- Conduct project hand-off to ensure constructibility and project goals are achieved.
- Leadership and management of all project team members.
- Lead, participate and/or attend all required company training programs and company events.
- Co-lead or participate and attend all job site and office meetings relative to the position.
QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty with proven experience. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
- 12+ years of Project Management experience in the trade (metal framing and drywall construction).
- 5+ years of a proven track record of production and productivity management on projects greater than $10+M in contractor value.(Drywall, framing, paint, and ceiling systems).
- ACT experience a plus.
- Proven detailed and hands-on knowledge of project scope.
- Proficient in reading detailed contracts, drawings, schedules, and specifications.
- Complete understanding of cost estimating, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and tenured leadership qualities.
- Talented at working with all levels of company staff.
- Ability to create and support team morale.
- Advanced knowledge of Bluebeam or similar program preferred.
- Outstanding communication skills, both written, and verbal.
- Capable of working extended hours, when and if necessary.
