Job Summary
Heartland Consulting is seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Manager to oversee DoD IT projects, ensuring successful execution and alignment with mission-critical objectives. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing IT projects within the DoD environment, coupled with a strong understanding of agile software development, infrastructure, and cloud technologies. This role requires an active TS/SCI clearance and offers telework flexibility, but candidates must reside in the DMV area.
Key Responsibilities:
•Lead and manage DoD IT projects through the full project lifecycle, from planning to execution and delivery.
•Apply Project Management Professional (PMP) principles to ensure on-time, on-budget, and within-scope delivery.
•Oversee agile software development processes, infrastructure upgrades, and cloud technology implementations.
•Collaborate with stakeholders, technical teams, and leadership to define project goals, milestones, and deliverables.
•Monitor project performance, identify risks, and develop mitigation plans to ensure mission success.
•Facilitate project meetings, provide progress reports, and communicate updates to stakeholders at all levels.
•Ensure adherence to DoD IT procedures, best practices, and compliance requirements.
Qualifications:
•Education:
•Bachelor's degree in a related field.
•Certifications:
•Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is required.
•Experience:
•5+ years of experience managing IT projects within the DoD environment.
•Strong understanding of information technology procedures and practices, including:
•Agile software development
•IT infrastructure
•Cloud technologies
•Clearance:
•Active TS/SCI security clearance is required.
•Location:
•Candidate must be located in the DMV area. Telework options are available.

•Expertise in project management frameworks, tools, and methodologies.
•Strong leadership and organizational skills to manage complex IT projects and cross-functional teams.
•Ability to communicate effectively with technical teams, leadership, and stakeholders.

Work Environment:
•Hybrid role with telework options. Candidates must be available for on-site meetings in the DMV area as required.
