Lumos & Associates is searching for a highly motivated and experienced Senior Project Manager for the Engineering Division. As an experienced engineering professional, the Senior Project Manager is a subject matter expert in managing large-scale projects and will be a key player in the management and design of a wide range of transportation and public works projects. This position will oversee a variety of roadway capacity projects, plan and design major and minor roadway infrastructure, and provide consultation to clients on utility infrastructure associated with roadway improvements.
This position requires a Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Nevada and/or California, or the ability to obtain reciprocity within 6 months.
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualities and skills:
- Strong technical background in public works and transportation and have a demonstrated ability to serve in responsible charge capacity for projects.
- Ability to provide leadership in the development of new business and promoting repeat and referral business with existing; participate in networking events and business development meetings. Write proposals, SOQs, RFQ responses and ability to develop approach to obtain large scale projects with individual project fees in excess of $250,000.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to present technical information in public forums as well as interpersonal communication with team members and colleagues.
- High level of creativity, organizational skills, and attention to detail, as well as a demonstrated ability to manage and oversee several tasks simultaneously.
- Strong business acumen necessary to maintain project budgets and develop new and repeat business with existing and new clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate, oversee, and direct the project design team during the execution of projects in responsible charge.
- Develop, implement, and maintain project schedules and budgets.
- Provide coaching, mentoring, and delegating responsibility to staff.
- Provide technical review (QA/QC) of projects.
- Serve as the primary contact with clients.
- Provide leadership in the development of new business and promote repeat and referral business.
- Prepare and review project proposals, qualification statements, and promotional materials.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
- A minimum of 10 years of related engineering design and management experience.
- Nevada and/or California P.E. license, or ability to obtain reciprocity within 6 months.
- Experience working in and managing a team of technical staff in multiple disciplines.
- Excellent oral and written communication and technical writing skills including public/client presentations.
- Valid drivers license and driving record with 3 or less demerit points.
