Summary Description:
The Senior Project Manager is responsible for leading strategic initiatives from inception to successful completion. As a seasoned professional, they are responsible for overseeing multiple projects, coordinating cross-functional teams, and ensuring timely delivery within scope. The role requires exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, coupled with a proven track record of delivering complex, strategic projects. The Senior Project Manager must excel at driving results through collaboration and effective project management methodologies and oversees the planning, coordination, requirements gathering, business analysis, specifications development, project planning, project monitoring, project status reporting, and system implementation of moderate to complex business solutions. The Senior Project Manager must be familiar with scope and project objectives, as well as the role and function of each team member, to effectively coordinate the activities of the team.
Representative Duties:
• Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of multiple projects while ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
• Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and resource requirements in collaboration with stakeholders.
• Review MSA’s, Contracts, and SOW’s for accuracy & key details which support project execution.
• Work directly with stakeholders to gather, document, and validate requirements for approved projects.
• Build and maintain relationships by engaging business leaders to establish credibility, solve problems, build consensus and achieve objectives.
• Actively manage full project life cycle ownership: successful project delivery will include full implementation from initiation to deployment for multiple initiatives simultaneously.
• Manage all aspects of multiple related projects to ensure the overall program is aligned to and directly support the achievement of strategic objectives.
• Monitor and provide status reporting regarding project milestones, deliverable, dependencies, risks and issues, communicating across stakeholders and Senior Leadership.
• Manage project scope and changes via established change control methods.
• Develop and manage all aspects of project and program engagement from planning, contract execution, external vendor relationships, communications, resources, budget, change, risks and issues.
• Monitor, track and control outcomes to resolve issues, conflicts, dependencies and critical path deliverables.
• Maintain an extensive understanding of project and program management principles, methods and techniques.
• Manage project and program issues and risks to mitigate impact to baseline.
• Analyze data and project information to drive continuous improvements to enhance project management practices and new business opportunities where applicable.
• Test and perform quality assurance tasks on assigned projects.
• Perform analysis necessary to understand business problems and new requirements.
• Ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements throughout the project lifecycle. This includes keeping informed of regulatory requirements.
• Take ownership of problems and assignments and complete assigned projects within targeted timeframes.
• Create appropriate documentation for all new and/or revised procedures and instructions.
• Keep management and team members informed of project or individual task status as needed.
• Monitor existing projects to ensure timely execution and completion and prepare project status reports. • Highlight the day-to-day activities or the projects in daily meetings.
• Use a project-based approach for problem-solving. • Maintain knowledge of end-to-end business cycles.
• Foster a collaborative setting with teams and management.
• Be actively involved in project activities such as business case development and requirements elicitation.
• Mentor and coach junior level project managers by helping build their confidence and experience, and motivating them to meet their project goals, adhere to their responsibilities, and reach their milestones.
• Perform administrative duties such as scheduling meetings and assisting department team members with various tasks as needed.
• Contribute to the development of best practices, standards, and templates to improve project managements efficiency and effectiveness. This can include administration of systems and tools which support PMO standards.
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree; preference for organizational management, business administration or a related field
• 7 years’ experience as a Project Manager or Program Manager or 5 years’ experience and PMI-ACP or PMP Certified.
• Experience in SDLC Methodologies, Agile, SCRUM, SDLC / Waterfall.
• Previous experience working in the health care industry; preferably with an HMO.
• Excellent communication (written, verbal and presentation) and interpersonal skills.
• Self-motivated, decisive, with the ability to adapt to change and competing demands.
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic, matrixed organization.
• Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate, influence, and support all levels of stakeholders up to and including Senior Management.
• Intermediate computer skills, including electronic mail, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheets, PowerPoint.
• Working knowledge of project management software, Jira, Confluence, Smartsheet preferred.
• Working knowledge of Visio or BPM visualization software preferred.
• Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
Salary:
$95,000.00 - $115,000.00 Annually
