The Senior Project Manager (Nuclear) is responsible for the planning, direction, and execution of large-scale projects within budget and specifications. This role leads Joint Project Teams (JPTs), manages project schedules, costs, risks, and ensures compliance with safety and quality standards. Projects typically exceed $25 million, and this role serves as the primary contact for all project-related activities.
Key Responsibilities
+ Lead cross-functional teams to ensure successful project execution.
+ Develop and manage project scope, schedule, budget, and risk plans.
+ Oversee project budgets over $25 million or portfolios exceeding $75 million.
+ Serve as the single point of contact for all project-related activities.
+ Ensure compliance with safety standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
+ Prepare and present project reports to senior leadership.
+ Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies.
Qualifications and Requirements
Education:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Management, or a related technical field.
+ Master’s degree preferred but not required.
Certification/License:
+ PMP certification required within one year of appointment.
+ Additional certifications in Nuclear Engineering or related fields are highly preferred.
Experience:
+ Proven experience managing large-scale projects in nuclear facilities or regulated industries.
+ Familiarity with nuclear safety regulations, quality assurance standards, and performance metrics.
+ Experience leading Joint Project Teams (JPTs) and managing cross-functional teams.
Skills:
+ Strong leadership, risk management, and stakeholder communication skills.
+ Proficiency in project management tools and software.
+ Knowledge of nuclear industry protocols and safety standards.
Budget Responsibility:
+ Manage project budgets over $25 million.
+ Oversee a portfolio of projects exceeding $75 million.
Additional Requirements:
+ Strong commitment to nuclear safety compliance and regulatory adherence.
+ Willingness to travel to nuclear sites as required.
+ Demonstrated ability to manage nuclear projects from initiation to completion.
