About the Job
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Project Manager to lead complex construction projects across diverse sectors, including public works, education, multifamily housing, and municipal facilities. This role requires a skilled professional with extensive experience in managing the full lifecycle of projects, from feasibility to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality.
The Senior Project Manager will serve as the primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders, driving project success through effective communication, meticulous planning, and proactive problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the planning, design, and construction of complex projects, ensuring alignment with client objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Lead pre-construction activities, including feasibility studies, site analysis, and budget development.
- Manage the procurement process for designers and contractors, including the development of RFPs/RFQs and contract negotiations.
- Conduct detailed cost estimating, budget control, and cash flow projections throughout the project lifecycle.
- Collaborate with design teams for constructability reviews, value engineering, and design peer reviews.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project schedules, including phasing and logistics planning.
- Coordinate with regulatory agencies to secure necessary approvals and permits.
- Facilitate community and stakeholder engagements to ensure project buy-in and alignment with public needs.
- Implement sustainability initiatives such as LEED integration and energy-efficient solutions.
- Oversee BIM coordination and ensure seamless integration of technology in project planning.
- Lead risk management efforts, including change order mitigation and operational impact assessments.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to project teams, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience managing large-scale, complex construction projects, including ground-up and public-sector developments.
- Expertise in pre-construction services, project budgeting, and schedule management.
- Strong understanding of municipal regulations, sustainability practices, and public procurement processes.
- Proficiency in construction management software, BIM tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Experience
- Background in public works, K-12 or higher education, multifamily, or municipal facilities.
- Familiarity with LEED certification processes and sustainable design practices.
- Experience with community engagement and stakeholder coordination.
