Responsibilities
A key enabler of Mainspring’s mission is the ability of its team to deliver solutions based on our linear generator technology that solve customer problems in the cross-section of resiliency and clean power generation. This includes site due diligence, design engineering, permitting, construction operations, and commissioning.
A Senior Project Manager Will:

Provide an excellent customer experience being the point person for customer interactions during the project lifecycle.

Directly execute multiple projects with full turnkey solutions concurrently at customer sites.

Manage the permitting of gas and electrical interconnection processes across several municipalities and utilities.

Coordinate with internal and external resources, customer stakeholders, contractors, engineers, and authorities having jurisdiction to deliver these projects.

Effectively manage critical path of the project execution schedule to ensure on time projects.

Mitigate and resolve technical issues in design, procurement and construction to ensure these do not impact the critical path.

Prioritize and escalate issues as necessary to maintain critical path.

Prepare bid packages and manage the contracts for engineering and subcontractors.

Manage, meet, and progressively reduce cost targets.

Support site visits and job walks throughout the project lifecycle.

Maintain records and databases to regularly report progress to customers and internal stakeholders.

Drive a culture of safety, quality and best practices in all aspects of a project's lifecycle.

Manage project teams consisting of but not limited to:
-
Project Engineers, Project Administrators, Permitting Consultants, Product Engineers, Construction Management, QA/QC Department, etc.

Manage site construction manager and QA/QC processes. Oversee health and safety programs on site and ensure compliance for all relevant parties.

Coordinate product specifications, including submittal reviews and approvals.

Negotiate Prime and Subcontract agreements. Manage change orders.

Direct the project turnover documentation, warranty administration, project closeout, and record keeping/retention processes and procedures.

Support communication with City, County, Building, Fire and other AHJ’s on project related topics.

Environmental impact risks and mitigations.
Qualifications
-
Over 7 years of experience in construction/project management (experience in distributed energy, solar, batteries, fuel cells, microgrids).

Detailed understanding of development, contracting, procurement planning, construction, logistic, scheduling, estimating, and budgeting.

Delivery and execution of project plans, writing RFPs, leading procurement activities and negotiations.

Ability to utilize industry tools to track cost expenditures and budget allocations.
-
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint) and/or Google workplace applications.

Project Management software (Procore).
-
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
-
Ability to handle large volumes of work and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to problem solve, think creatively, and timely resolve personnel and project-related issues.

Excellent organization, documentation, written and verbal communication skills.

Demonstrated experience with and full understanding of the following:

Planning/Building department (AHJ) dynamics and schedule risks.

Electrical interconnection process/gas upgrades process with utilities.
-
Contract negotiation.
-
RFP writing/management.
-
Budget management.
-
Project management process, tools, and software.
-
Estimating.
-
Contractor qualification.
-
Safety and Quality (QA/QC).

The Bay Area salary for this role is $109k-$128k base + bonus + pre-IPO stock options + benefits. This position is remote. The salary will be adjusted to reflect local market conditions based on employee location as well as the experience of the employee.

New hires joining the company tend to be paid within the starting base pay range noted above, with opportunities to increase pay over time based on development of additional skills, competencies, and company-specific knowledge.
