Key Responsibilities
- Contract Review: Analyze owner contract language, identify risks, and manage accordingly.
- Budget Management: Establish project budgets and profit goals for management review.
- Team Leadership: Lead the selection of subcontractors and suppliers, and guide the project team through preconstruction and construction phases.
- Scheduling: Develop a master project schedule, identify critical milestones, and report deviations.
- Submittals & Approvals: Oversee the submittal and shop drawing approval processes.
- Safety Oversight: Collaborate with the Superintendent to ensure proper safety planning, budgets, and compliance.
- Risk Management: Identify early signs of risk (e.g., staffing issues, cash flow, milestones) and implement solutions.
- Client Communications: Maintain clear communication and reporting with clients and stakeholders, adhering to contract criteria.
- Compliance: Ensure all regulatory requirements (e.g., erosion control, dust/noise ordinances) are met.
- Change Management: Facilitate accurate and timely management of scope changes, including cost and time claims.
- Documentation: Ensure project records are updated and maintained, including correspondence, drawings, and as-builts.
- Forecasting: Provide accurate revenue forecasts and updates for reporting.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field (preferred).
- Relevant certifications or equivalent experience will also be considered.
- 7+ years of experience managing commercial or light industrial construction projects.
- In-depth knowledge of building systems and construction methods.
