Senior Project Manager (Cloud Applications) at STAND 8 Technology Consulting

Our enterprise solutions team is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager (Cloud Applications) to join our team supporting a global Media & Entertainment client build a new environment from scratch. This role will be focused on migrating a large number of cloud-based applications into the new environment, and the PM's responsibility will include ensuring this gets done on time and within scope. The focus here will be successfully migrating large-scale enterprise software applications that are hosted on AWS and Azure cloud environments. Your day-to-day will involve engaging with IT and engineering teams, as well as business stakeholders to liaise with in order to ensure successful delivery.

You will create project plans from scratch using Smartsheet, track deliverables with engineering teams in Jira, and ensure that each migrated application is moved to spec within the time frames required. This project involves planning and executing within a hybrid waterfall and agile environment. Strong communication, influencing, and negotiation skills are essential for this position. Additionally, the project will require a solid technical foundation and the ability to quickly gain a deep understanding of strategic objectives.

We have a direct relationship with the hiring manager on this critical project and are setting up interviews ASAP. Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee multiple large-scale cloud-based application migrations within AWS & Azure environments.
• Define, maintain, and track project scope, timelines, and budgets.
• Continuously update and manage detailed project plans, roadmaps, and trackers to monitor progress.
• Communicate project expectations, risks, and escalations effectively and promptly across all organizational levels.
• Manage resource capacity, identify overallocated resources, and develop mitigation strategies.
• Develop and maintain robust mitigation strategies for potential risks and issues.
• Lead cross-functional teams towards common goals within tight deadlines.
• Create project plans and mitigate scope creep.
• Provide weekly and monthly project status updates.
• Contribute to continuous process improvements aimed at enhancing efficiency and automation.

Qualifications

• At least 10 years of experience managing complex software or infrastructure projects.
• Knowledge of cloud infrastructure environments for cloud-based applications
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience.
• Proficient with project management tools like Jira, ServiceNow, and Smartsheet.
• Exceptional organizational and communication skills, with a keen eye for detail.
• Basic knowledge of software and infrastructure engineering technologies.
• Strong leadership abilities with a proven track record of coordinating and influencing team members from diverse global backgrounds, business goals, and time zones.
• Flexible and effective leader who thrives under pressure and during significant changes.
• Eagerness to continuously learn about new technologies, project management methodologies, and adapt to evolving business and industry needs.

Preferred Additional Qualifications

• Certification with a PMP or CSM.
• Cloud certification (e.g. AWS Cloud Certified Practitioner or Azure certification, etc.)
• Prior experience working in the media entertainment sector.
• Strong leadership qualities to motivate, guide, and inspire teams.
• Results-driven with a proactive approach to completing tasks.

Additional Details
The base range for this contract position is $65 - $80/per hour, depending on experience.

Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hires of this position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
