Senior Commercial Construction Project Manager Opportunity
One of the region's most respected General Contractors is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join its growing team. This award-winning company is known for its commitment to quality, financial strength, and a proven track record of excellence in commercial construction.
Position Overview: The Senior Project Manager will play a critical role in ensuring project success, leading high-impact teams with a client-focused approach, clear communication, and a commitment to excellence. This role calls for a strategic, seasoned leader who can align project execution with the company's growth objectives and work closely with executive leadership to drive organizational success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preconstruction Leadership: Partner with Estimating during Preconstruction to guide project planning and ensure smooth transitions to execution.
- Project Oversight: Lead the project team through interpreting and implementing construction plans and specifications, mentoring less-experienced staff to build a strong, cohesive project management team.
- Relationship Building: Cultivate and sustain relationships with Owners, Architects, Engineers, and Subcontractors to drive project acquisition and foster long-term partnerships.
- Strategic Procurement: Oversee the complete subcontractor and vendor procurement process, ensuring contract accuracy, scope clarity, and insurance and bonding compliance.
- Problem Resolution: Provide expertise in resolving design or construction conflicts and proactively address issues to keep projects on track.
- Documentation and Administration: Ensure the efficient management of submittals, RFIs, change orders, owner billings, timesheets, and monthly reporting.
- Financial Accountability: Direct the preparation of owner billings, verify subcontractor and vendor billings, and oversee monthly cost forecasting to monitor project financial health.
- Scheduling and Progress Management: Lead project scheduling efforts, ensuring projects stay on track with consistent progress updates and strategic adjustments.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred, though extensive relevant experience or certifications will also be considered.
- 8 years of experience managing complex commercial or light industrial construction projects.
- Deep knowledge of building systems, construction methods, and project management best practices.
- Strong financial and budgeting skills, with the ability to independently manage large-scale projects from inception through completion.
